Website prices, web design rates, website managing, and web development costs may vary tremendously and people seeking to have websites developed often have no idea of what to expect when they make an enquiry.

Many website design competitors do not publicly announce any prices at all and leave it completely to the potential customer to make an enquiry. Although this topic may be difficult and a final price really depends of the complexity of each individual case it still should be possible to give an idea of what to expect.

People always want to get to the bottom line very quickly. They want to know how much their website is going to cost. Talking about a few examples and their prices at least gives an idea of what to expect later.

Black Nikau's typical website prices are no secret. We like to be up front about it so that before you as the potential client make an enquiry you already have a good idea of how much it might cost you.

That way there are no surprises and we will not be wasting each other's time. Good website design and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) requires a lot of time and experience. Our charges must be realistic, but we do try to keep the website design price as affordable as possible.

We do not hide our website prices

Our target in the market is amongst SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and self employed individuals. We recognize that large budgets for web design are probably not available in this group and therefore our web design rates are certainly attractive to them.

If you are just after cheap website design rates and not too concerned about quality then Black Nikau are not for you.

Similarly, if you are aiming at a major web design, where you require complex graphic design elements, custom coding, website development, uniquely developed functions and features and your budget is huge for your website we are probably not for you either. But do not turn away before talking to us about it anyway. What may appear complex for one maybe considered easy for another. We honestly will tell you right at the beginning whether we can do it or not. It may also depend on our workload at a particular time.

What we do is create cost effective, functional websites for small and medium enterprises using proven methods and techniques at reasonable rates.

Examples
Single Page Business Card Type Website
Nowadays most businesses recognize that they need a web address. But not all of them are ready for a full website or they have no real content to place there. In this situation Black Nikau would create a single page website with some information about what you do and your contact details including an email link.

A single page website is from $295

(The cost of a website is not proportional to the number of pages it contains. Even a single page website requires layout and graphic design. Developing a standard look and the graphics for a single page can sometimes take as long as the creation of 100 pages being similar to each other.)
Four or Five Web Pages in an Online Brochure Format
This is a basic website with four or five pages such as home page, about us, products, contact details, enquiry website design, rates form, etc, where you provide the required content and no consultancy is involved. Black Nikau can design a suitable master header for the pages and source some images for you.
A four or five page website price will be about $375 - $700

If you require search engine optimization (SEO) you need to add about $100 - $150
– Note that SEO may require changes to your proposed text content.

If you need us to help you define your requirements this may add to the cost.
Approximately Ten Web Pages on a Small or Medium Business Website
The content would basically be as above with a few more pages probably illustrating products and services and perhaps including portfolio or testimonial details.
If desired it would also include an online enquiry form asking the questions you specify to help generate business.
Keyword Research and Search Engine Optimization would be included.

A ten page website will be from $1,000 - $1,500
Basic Ecommerce Website with Approximately Ten Pages
Perhaps you require a site like the above, but also need to sell a single item or very small number of items online using Paypal or a similar ready-to-use payment processing service.
Or perhaps you need to take variable payments online for services you provide.

A ten page website with small ecommerce functionality will be from $1,200 - $1,800
Full Ecommerce Website with Administration Area
Black Nikau can design a full Ecommerce site with shopping cart to take online credit card payments. This includes a user friendly website administration area that will allow you to input your own stock, change prices, shipping rates, etc.
The administration area is accessible online via a user ID and password.
Some Search Engine Optimization is included.

A shopping cart and Ecommerce website will be from $1,600 to about $5,500 with most sites coming in around $2,500.

Black Nikau does not develop a whole Ecommerce site from scratch, which would be a job of many many months and cost in the tens of thousands. We do install proven systems serving the customers purpose and configure them properly, and we do the style and colour design according to your requirements.
– Note that stocking up the online shop is not included.
Content Managed Website Using a Content Managing System (CMS)
If required we can make your website user updateable with a website CMS. You can then make your own website updates and change your website content as frequently as necessary.

For a full website Content Management System add $500

– Note that CMSs are not without problems. Sometimes users have difficulties using the CMS and need to ask Black Nikau after all to sort things out for them. Unfortunately in many of such cases a lot of damage has been done already and the configuration and content went haywire. Cleaning up such a messy site maybe time consuming and can take more time than to start over from scratch.

Website Update and Modification Rates
Most of the clients don't want the hassle of website content management and if you are belonging there Black Nikau can make changes to your site on your request.

It is not Black Nikau's business to hold people to ransom for changing or updating their sites. The minimum charge is only $50 per incident. This will cover most text and minor image changes that you want us to perform. If the changes are very minor Black Nikau may not even charge you for this or maybe only add these small charges to your next invoice.
If you need more extensive changes we will quote you a very reasonable price for these.
